Clinical Induction

Clinical staff who join the Homerton from 23/9/2024 are required to attend the Clinical Induction once during their employment at Homerton.

The new Clinical Induction Programme has been meticulously designed to introduce all clinical staff to critical topics within the Homerton context. This initiative is structured to enhance patient care and clinical efficacy while significantly reducing the organisational burden on local areas and Subject Matter Experts for individual training sessions.

The Clinical Induction is scheduled monthly, on a Tuesday, from 09:30 to 16:45. This timing ensures that for some new starters, the induction will follow directly after their Corporate Induction, while others may join the next cohort within a 2-3 week period, ensuring flexibility and continuity.

The Clinical Induction covers a range of topics, some of which are tailored to specific staff groups. Therefore, different staff members will have different end times or may be required to leave the lecture theatre and return for relevant sessions later in the day.

As per the table above, Registered Adult Nurses would be required to attend the full clinical induction from 09:30 to 16:45, whereas Radiology Staff would only be required to attend from 09:30 to 10:45.
