Medical education

We are responsible for managing and administering the following areas:

Undergraduate education
We host a large number of students each year from Barts and The London, Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry. The students are assessed during their time here as part of their degree.
Due to the volume of students attending placements here, it is unusual for the Trust to accept individual students arranging their own study.

Foundation programme
The foundation programme provides training for doctors in their first two years of training after graduating. We have a large, well-established, foundation programme with over fifty-five trainees. Trainees participate in a structured teaching programme and are regularly assessed using a variety of assessment tools.

Junior doctor training and development
We offer a wide variety of educational opportunities for junior doctors, including a robust programme of regular teachings.

Study leave
Our study leave budget is used to support the professional development and training of all doctors employed by the Trust.
