Consent and confidentiality
The confidentiality of our patients and staff is very important to us. We will not provide any information about an individual without their prior consent, or consent from their next-of-kin.
Filming and photography
All requests to conduct interviews, film or take photographs on the Trust premises must be made through the press and communications department. The Trust site is private property; if anybody is caught filming or taking photographs without permission they will be asked to leave the site by security.
The Trust receives a number of requests for generic or backdrop filming and photography for non-health or commercial purposes. We do charge a facility fee to cover costs. Unfortunately we are not able to facilitate requests from students.
Arranging interviews with Trust staff
All approaches for interviews, filming or photography with Trust staff must be made through the press and communications department. Please call 020 8510 5035 with your request.
Condition checks
Condition checks will only be given out if you have the name of the individual concerned, plus their age/date of birth or an address. We can only provide basic information about a patient’s condition, for example if they are stable, satisfactory or critical. We also cannot provide any information if we are not given consent to do so.
Please do not contact the wards directly for information.
Major incident
Should a major incident occur, the hospital has a contingency plan that includes arrangements for the media.
The media centre is based in the Education Centre, which is based at the rear of the hospital. We will provide regular updates on the situation and try to accommodate interviews.
We will try to answer the press office number in the event of a major incident, however we do suggest that the media check our website for the latest news and statements issued.
