Community therapy services shortlisted for prestigious awards
Two Allied Health Professional community services at Homerton Healthcare, Locomotor and the Children's Speech and Language Therapy service, have been shortlisted for the Health Service Journal awards.
Locomotor
The Locomotor team have a long history of award wins for the innovative development of their service. This year they have been shortlisted for two HSJ awards:
- Primary and Community Care Innovation of the Year
- Primary and Community Care Provider of the Year
Over the years the service has increased the number of patients being treated in the community, saving patients having to travel into the hospital. They have been able to do this by refining their service in collaboration with patients, GPs and consultants providing a more holistic approach to their care.
Speech & Language Therapists
Developed by our speech and language therapists (SaLTs), Verbo has been recognised as a leading innovation in healthcare by securing nominations in three categories at the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards.
Verbo provides universal resources that can be used with all pupils across a setting, as well as targeted resources for those with identified speech, language and communication needs.
Verbo has been shortlisted in the following categories:
- HSJ Patient Safety Awards 16 September:
- Improving Care for Children and Young People Initiative of the Year
- HSJ Awards, 21 November:
- Early Intervention and Prevention for Children, Young People, and Families Award
- Reducing Inequalities and Improving Outcomes for Children and Young People Award
Verbo’s recognition in these three significant categories is testament to the commitment that has gone into creating it, and reflects the passion of the team for improving the lives of children and young people through innovative and accessible speech and language therapy solutions.
