Gynaecology outpatient services are moving location
Services in the Tuke Ward Women’s Health Centre are moving to their upgraded location Gynaecology Outpatients and Gynaecology Diagnostics in the Day Stay Unit on Saturday 3 August 2024
The brand-new ‘Gynaecology Outpatients and Gynaecology Diagnostics Hub' is part of the upgrade and expansion of our elective and surgical hub. This is the first of our big moves in this exciting work to upgrade our facilities and provide a better experience for everybody.
Information for patients
After Saturday 3 August, if you have a Gynaecology Outpatients appointment, Colposcopy or Outpatients Hysteroscopy appointment you will need to attend at the new location. You can find the new location by enterting via the Day Stay Unit (DSU) entrance.
How to get to the DSU entrance via gate 7 (by the old Women’s Health Centre entrance):
- enter the hospital through gate 7
- turn left
- then turn right to follow the path around the side of the building
- the DSU entrance (blue door - see photos below) is on your right, 'Day Stay Unit' is on the sign above the door
- go to the first floor via the lift and report to reception
How to get to the DSU entrance via the main hospital pedestrian entrance:
- go straight ahead, towards the hospital main entrance
- after crossing the road, turn right and walk along the front of the hospital
- cross the road at the next cross and turn left
- the DSU entrance (blue door — see photos below) is on your right, 'Day Stay Unit' is on the sign above the door

Appointment types in the new location:
- all general gynaecology outpatient appointments
- acute gynaecology clinics
- outpatient hysteroscopy
- colposcopy appointments
- vulva clinic appointments
The Early Pregnancy Service and Abortion Care services will remain in the Emergency Gynaecology Unit in the main building of the hospital (1st floor, yellow corridor).
If you have an appointment in the new location already booked, you’ll receive a text reminder with the new location.
If you’re booked a new appointment in new location, your appointment letter will contain the details of the new location.
If you need help finding the new location on the day of your appointment, please visit the main hospital reception who will be able to direct you.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment to allow extra time to find the new location.
