Your first diabetes eye screening appointment
This will be sent to you when your GP tells us that you have diabetes and he/she would like you to be screened for eye problems.

We do not, under normal circumstances, give appointments to people who phone up ‘out of the blue’.

Changing your appointment
This is easy. If the appointment that we offered you is not convenient, then please phone us up and we will change it to a day and time that suits you. Alternately, you can complete an online form specifying your preferred time here. There are usually plenty of appointments available. Please phone us on 020 8510 5911 or email us on eyescreening@nhs.net

Our booking office is open 0800-1730 (8am to 5.00pm) Monday to Friday except public holidays.

Need an evening or Saturday morning appointment?
Most of our appointments for screening are within the standard working day, but we have some days when we offer evening or Saturday morning appointments for people who prefer that.  If you need an evening or Saturday appointment please phone us or send us an email. As long as you are happy to wait a while to be screened, we will be able to see you in the clinic outside normal hours.

Your second appointment
Once we have screened you for the first time, our computer will send you another screening appointment in a year. You don’t need to contact us to remind us to send you an annual appointment unless more than a year has passed.

If you move house (even if you move away), or if you change GP, please phone and let us know as this stops us sending your next appointment to the wrong address, and stops us sending reports to the wrong GP.
